Theme 46. REVOLVE Outfits. Date Night Looks

Revolve outfits styled by Ulia Ali, Nyc Fashion Influencer/Blogger

Dear Online Girlfriend, here I am again with some new reviews on clothes from our beloved Revolve. Last time I shared with you some of my favorite summer looks, perfect for a vacation, and today I thought I will post some date night/day looks. It is still summer, so we will focus on warm weather outfits, but make sure to check my blog in a month or two for some fall looks!

LBD? How about MBD (Midi Black Dress)?!

Let’s start with this QUEEN of the dresses! This Pagne Midi Dress by h:ours is an absolute show stopper! I have received so many compliments when I wore this dress and I felt incredibly sexy, yet loved how sophisticated and classy this look is at the same time. I think every woman has at least one classic little black dress, but this one shoulder midi dress with a side slit is an absolute must have! The material is thick; it fits PERFECTLY. Please do yourself a favour and go get it before it is sold out!

Here are other black midi dresses that I liked on Revolve:

Teal me more!

We will get to wearing a lot of dark colors and neutral shades in the upcoming fall and winter season, but while it is still hot I really recommend putting on a nice colorful mini dress or a matching set! Whether it is a last summer weekend in the Hamptons, a big labor day party or just a lovely summer date brunch, you will definitely stand out in a dress like THIS! This teal color is so gorgeous and the material of this Superdown dress is very silky and pleasant and overall this draped dress looks luxurious and more expensive than it is (it is only $74!). It comes in three colors.

Tie-Dye till I die

I will be honest with you, dear online girlfriend, I have never been a big tie-dye trend fan. I purposefully avoid it and don’t think I owned any tie-dye pieces until I saw this Krystal Superdown dress. This color is STUNNING and elegant! I already wore this dress so many times that I have to stop recording Instagram Stories in it because it is getting out of hand :) I wore it out with heels for a dinner, I wore it for my real estate Open House with sandals, with cowboy boots, a cropped jacket and a hat for a stroll in the city… It always looks so different! It is simple to just put on, easy to accessorize and the material is silky and feels amazing on my skin. It also hugs my body in all the right places. What not to love?! It is definitely one of my top favorite dresses at the moment and it is only $88. I HIGHLY recommend it!

My white heels are also from Revolve. They are Julie heels by Raye and very comfortable. I like them so much that I ordered them in black color as well!

Silky Smooth

As you can tell, I am a bit obsessed with everything light and silky at the moment. I think an elegant silky blouse or a top is a must have in every woman’s wardrobe, especially in some neutral light shades. When I received Scottie One shoulder top (only $55!) I was pleasantly surprised as the the wrap tie makes the top adjustable and really complements my body. You can tie it as loose or as tight on your waist as you want!

I paired this top with Trinity faux leather skirt, but it also looks great with jeans and white trousers.

Speaking of faux leather skirts, I also have to share one of my top items in wardrobe - this JEZABEL faux leather midi skirt with a slit! If I could have only one item from the whole website, it will be this skirt!

It is sexy, yet appropriate for an office look to! I love it so much that I ordered another black one as a back up and waiting for the Jezebel in nude color to arrive soon as well! Best skirt I ever had! It gets sold out quickly, so do not miss out!

Theme 36: Holiday Season. 70s Party Vibes with Revolve

Holiday season is approaching and we all are on a lookout for perfect gifts and beautiful outfits. Of course sparkling embellished dresses for New Years Eve parties and cozy sweaters for Christmas dinners are not going anywhere, but 70s style is making a huge comeback this season!

Revolve has always been one of the websites where I go to to find new cool designer pieces and the trendiest of outfits, and Clayton collection really caught my eye. I picked this stunning, but soft and comfortable Clement jumpsuit that is as perfect for a glam party as it is for a vacation in warmer places. Please bare in mind that the jumpsuit is quite tall, so either wear heels or prepare to get it shortened (or maybe you are actually above 6', so this is made for you and I congratulate you on your endless legs!)

Week 24: Candy Shop. Best Candy Stores of NYC + Willy Wonka is coming!

Ben calls me a "fat kid on the inside" because of the amount of candy and chocolate I consume. If I see a candy store I always run to indulge my sweet tooth, while my husband sighs and mumbles something about me getting diabetes. Naturally, I explored a fair amount of chocolatiers and candy bars in New York this year, and I would love to share my yummy list with you!

1. Dylans Candy Bar

Founded by Ralph Lauren's daughter, Dylan Lauren, Dylan's Candy Bar is one of the biggest candy stores in the world! Dylan revealed that she was inspired to create her candy boutique by Roald Dahl's famous story, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

There are several locations all over New York (as well as other US and international locations!), but my favourite is their flagship store located on 60th Street and 3rd Avenue. Dylan's Candy Bar has been featured in films and TV series many times, including Gossip Girl.

Bonus Tip: Everything I have ever tried in the store was AMAZING, except the macaroons. Go to Macaron cafe or Laduree for macaroons.

2. MarieBelle

The most gorgeous and sophisticated chocolatier in New York. You can find the sweetest and most original gifts in beautiful packaging here.

My personal favourite is Marie Antoinette's chocolate ganache cake in an antique book box. You can keep the box after you eat the DELICIOUS cake and use it as a decor item or a secret storage compartment.

3. Vosges Haut-Chocolat

Vosges is a luxury chocolate boutique that offers unusual and creative flavours. My husband often likes to treat me with a box of outstanding chocolate truffles with flavours like Indian curry & coconut, banana pudding, anise with fennel and absinth and many more. I literally have never tasted anything like Vosges chocolates before!

4.  Godiva

Godiva's gold boxes filled with high quality chocolates are always a great gift idea. For men I would recommend the chocolate cigars. I gave them to Ben on our second date and it was my first ever gift to him!

5. Hersheys, M&M's

Cute little candy store on Times Square stocking a great range of Hershey's chocolate and collectibles. By the way there is a great M&M's store super close by as well!

6. Leonidas

If I crave delicious fresh Belgian chocolate I go to Leonidas on 3 Hanover Square.

7. Economy Candy

Not as fancy as the other candy stores on this list, Economy Candy is the OLDEST candy store in NYC which makes it kind of worthy of a visit.

Did you like the list? Which of these candy stores have you already visited?

And as promised, I am sharing bonus Candy News with you! The most candilicuous show is back on Broadway. Charlie & the Chocolate Factory the musical will be in NYC in Spring 2017, and you can already buy tickets here. Happy Sweets Days to you!

Week 21: Greek. Finding Santorini in NYC.

One of the best things about New York is that it is so multicultural. You can find any part of our world secretly tucked away with love on one of the many streets of the city, or openly blossoming as a miniature version of countries like Italy, China and Russia.

Being a great appreciator of Greek cuisine and culture, I enjoy finding new Greek restaurants or spotting new murals and pieces inspired by the colors of Santorini. One of my favourite "portals" to Greece in NYC is Souvlaki GR (116 Stanton Street).

Photography by my favourite NYC photographer - Dennis

For this Santorini inspired photoshoot I wore a beautiful blue-patterned, white dress from Shein.

Dress - Shein | Heels - Steve Madden (I also love these) | Bracelet - Club Monaco  | Sunnies - Ray Ban

Week 18: Summer in NYC. After the Sun Goes Down.

There is always something to do in New York at any hour of the day. However, when museum doors close and shops start politely shooing everyone away, many people obligingly go to the nearest take away place, and go either home or back to their hotel, abandoning the exciting wonders of nighttime Manhattan. Wouldn't you want to have a proper night dance with the city?

I decided to give you a little 5-step guide of what to do this September after the sun's last ray disappears somewhere behind 14th Street.

1. It's SHOWTIME!

Let's start the evening at a Broadway musical. One of the newest, and already celebrated shows, is Cirque du Soleil PARAMOUR, a magical marriage of a classic musical and amazing Cirque du Soleil performances. Ben and I sawit a few weeks ago and thought that it was overall very aesthetically beautiful. To be honest, it is not the best musical we have ever seen, nor is it the best Cirque du Soleil show we have ever witnessed, but it is certainly a show worth seeing at least once!

Alternatively, you still have time to book the last available tickets for one of the greatest musicals of all time, Les Miserables, which is having its last show on the 4th of September. Book your tickets here before they are gone.

2. Feed me!

Musicals and plays are rarely shorter than 120 minutes, so chances are you tried to fill yourself up with overpriced pretzels and jellybeans sold during intermission, but you are stillreally hungry. I suggest you have a late night dinner at the amazing Italian restaurant, Marea, which specializes in seafood and has two Michelin stars. Prices are actually quite reasonable for such a high-end, gorgeous restaurant, but book your table in advance!

3. Midnight in New York

Nothing is more romantic and surreal than midnight at the top of the Empire State Building. My husband took me there on our third date and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Usually crowded, the Empire State Building is quite empty at that late hour, so don't miss your chance to admire a bird's eye view of Manhattan by night.

4. Party like a VIP

If you want to party in the top rated nightclubs in New York, sit at VIP tables and have access to exclusive events, contact Blue Circle NY. Just call and tell them whatever your energetic heart desires (from bottle service to partying with celebrities). No need forstanding in that line to Marquee anymore and loosing precious time!

5. Drunk cravings or Feed me part 2.

Your night was crazy and fun, but suddenly you realise that your alcohol infused body desperately wants some delicious food. The majority of cafés and restaurants are closed and you promised to yourself to not eat at McDonalds anymore. Luckily, New York has a few great 24/7 places. I recommend Katz’s Delicatessen (205 E Houston St) or Ukrainian eatery, Veselka (144 2nd Ave).
