Week 29: NYFW Recap. My NYFW Looks

They say you never forget your first NYFW, and I couldn't agree more! It was a mad week full of runway shows, bloggers events, showroom meetings, and surprises from Mother Nature.

This week I am going to share my NYFW looks, videos and photographs from the events, and give you an advice on how to get invited to NYFW if you have just started your blog!

I really enjoyed Malan Breton's collection as it is so close to my style. It has that feel of a vintage class, sophistication and a touch of a luxury that I adore. Here are some of my favourite looks from Malan Breton's FW 2017 runways show:

Week 22: Witches of Manhattan. Dark Side

What would you imagine a modern witch wearing around Manhattan on a daily basis? I fantasised a little bit for this theme and opted for a sexy, black, lace top, burgundy lips and dark jeans for my "casual witchy" look.

Not a lot of people know this about me, but I am very interested in magic, its history and the science behind the mysterious. There are real witch circles in big cities like London and New York, and I experienced them first hand, purely for research reasons. I don't like talking about it, but among curious folk like me, aspiring authors in search of inspiration, and clearly insane people, there were few individuals who stood out.

It was interesting that among eccentric women dressed up as Elviras, mistresses of the Dark and Professors Trelawneys, the real witches, in the way I see and understand that term, attracted attention only with their natural magnetism, and a sense of serenity about them. That is what I tried to portray in today's look.

Shall we explore the dark side?

Week 22: Witches of Manhattan. Halloween Special

Every year, towards the end of October, our streets and homes are invaded by pumpkins, plastic spiders and scary looking candies. While some of us eagerly jump on the "Halloween fun" bandwagon and spend weeks thinking about whether to be a naughty nurse or a sultry bunny, others use Halloween as a chance to explore their dark side and disregard the costume madness altogether.

I want to dedicate this Halloween Special to urban witches. What do they wear, what books do they read, and where do they buy their potions in NYC? Find out in our spookiest Theme Week yet - Witches of Manhattan.

Dress - Shein | Heels - Steve Madden  | Lace Mask - Ann Summers (similar here and here)

Week 19: Hawaii. Aloha, Beaches! Zaful Swimwear Review.

Dear readers, I apologise for not updating Pastiche.Today this past week. I am currently on my vacation the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii and I am predictably busy :)

I will try to keep you updated on Instagram, but I am very excited to finally share my swimwear photoshoots and travel tips on the blog. Ben is a really wonderful and supporting man and even though he doesn't always enjoy taking pictures, he helped out because he knows how important Pastiche.today is to me. I have also been lucky to shoot with Marcus Bloss and I cannot wait to show you what we have created together. So while everyone else is writing about Fashion Week, I am going to show you some awesome beach photographs and write a unique Kauai Travel Guide!

ZAFUL SWIMWEAR:

Today I am showing you my photographs in this absolutely stunning swimsuit from ZAFUL. This one-piece is very intricate and beautiful, and is so perfect for honeymooning. I have been so impressed by the quality of Zaful items and their wide range of clothes and swimwear that I just have to share a little list of my favourites from the shop at the end of this post (along with coupon codes!). Girls, I really do highly recommend this online store!

Week 13: Grace Kelly. My Eliza J Pink Dress

I discovered Eliza J on Nordstrom’s website when I was looking for an outfit inspired by Grace Kelly. It was love at first sight! The delicious pastel pink colour, elegant 50s silhouette, rose lace, and a full crisp skirt; the dress was rapidly added to my shopping cart.

When the dress arrived, my husband immediately asked if they had it in other colours (as a matter of fact they DO) and that I should purchase them all! The moment I put this dreamy pink dress on I felt incredibly feminine and classy. The silhouette of the dress is very flattering and makes my waist look tiny.

I felt really lucky to find something so similar to Grace Kelly's signature style and in one of her favourite colours.

These wonderful photos were taken by my friend Agne Gadišauskaitė at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

Eliza J has other gorgeous pieces (check out my new favourites at the end of this post!). The brand's dresses and skirts are all beautiful, very feminine, and have a fabulous vintage feel I adore.

MY LOOK:  Dress - Eliza J (they also have it in black here), Heels - Pigalle Christian Louboutin, Bag - Dior (similar here), Gloves - bought on Amazon (here)
