PROM AND WEDDING GUEST DRESSES 2017 SPECIAL.

Prom and wedding season is approaching, and females all around the world are on a hunt for a beautiful gown (or two). This Spring and Summer you are not only allowed, but encouraged to transform yourself into a fairytale creature; a nymph in a semi-transparent mesh dress, a princess in a ball gown, a mermaid who escaped dark waters to wear a sparkling gown!

SHOP OUR LOOKS:

Ulia is wearing - Jovani

Kate is wearing - Basix Black Label (this gown comes in 5 colors!)

This special photoshoot with my gorgeous friend and one of the top Russian bloggers, Kate from the Beauty Mark Lady, was shot in a lavish Lockwood-Mathews Mansion in Norwalk, Connecticut. The mansion is now open for public as a museum, but you probably have already seen it in Hollywood films (for example in the 2004's version of The Stepford Wives starring Nicole Kidman).

Interesting fact is that the Lockwood-Matthews mansion was used by survivors and victims of the September 11 attacks.

At the end of this post I have linked the most desirable gowns and dresses of 2017. Some of the curated selection of dresses are under $100, so hurry up before your size is sold out. By the way, don't hesitate to email me at ulya.aliyeva@gmail.com if you need a help with choosing a prom dress or an evening gown. I will ALWAYS reply, and give you a personalised online styling session!

DREAM GOWNS 2017:

Week 29: NYFW Recap. My REVOLVE & Cynthia Rowley Looks

MY LOOK 1:

Dress - Tularosa X Revolve | Bag - Christian Louboutin | Hat - PomPom London |
Boots - UGGs (grey and white style here ) | Socks - similar here, but expensive! And $5 red ones I like :) |
Fur Coat - Снежная Королева (similar here. sort of! :) )

I wore this comfy, yet stylish look for Francesca Liberatore NYFW show. The show was beautiful, and I could spot so many famous bloggers and TV personalities, like Dorothy Wang from Rich Kids from Beverly Hills, in the audience. I have made a little collage with my favourite looks from Francesca Liberatore's beautiful FW 2017 show.

I wore this 70s inspired Tularose dress with a white fur jacket, and I can imagine wearing the dress on a beach vacation as well. So easy to style it! Revolve always has the best selection of clothes and brands. If I could shop only in one store for the rest of my life, it would be, without any doubt, Revolve.

I also wore my new Christian Louboutin pink bag for the first time. It was another gift Ben gave to me when we were in Copenhagen. And Ben was also the one who took all these photographs and the upcoming video!

MY LOOK 2:

Dress - Cynthia Rowley (its not on sale YET, but I will link it when it's available) |
Bracelet - Hermes | Shoes -  Christian Louboutin

Another NYFW look that I wore for some meetings and a brunch at my favourite Russian restaurant Mari Vanna NYC. This teal blue dress with embroidered flowers is by Cynthia Rowley, and it is so pretty! Kind of reminds me of my Marie Antoinette Theme Week (click here to see my Marie Antoinette inspired looks!)

With my youngest fans :)

Thank you Shopstyle for the dresses!

Week 29: NYFW Recap. Fohr Event and My Looks

Have you seen my first two NYFW looks here? Today I continue sharing my looks of the day. For the Hakan Akkaya show, I was so privileged to attend, and showroom meetings I rocked this pyjama/lingerie trend. The whole look is by Walter Baker, who is one of the NYC designers I absolutely love working with.

MY LOOK 1:

Black Silk Top - Walter Baker (similar here) | Embroidered Pants - Walter Baker | Shoes - Christian Louboutin | Bag - Saint Laurent ( I also love this YSL red clutch on SALE) |
Sunnies - Ray Ban | Gold Hoops - cheap option here

FOHR EVENT:

I will tell you a secret: I sometimes prefer events and parties to runway shows! Often they are more intimate and exclusive, and you get more chances to meet and talk to some truly inspiring and beautiful women. I was lucky to have a blogger friend Sarah Jessica from FASHinNY to introduce me to some wonderful people and brands. She was the one who told me about FOHR. BeFOHR event was actually the party that launched my NYFW adventures.

I ran to Billie Carroll, who is a blogger at 25 North, and former cast member of Made in Chelsea that I actually love (guilty pleasures!). Billie is very pretty and sweet!

With another beautiful fashion blogger Kyleigh, who lives in Palm Beach, Florida. Her blog is C'est le Style.

MY LOOK 2:

Black Jumpsuit - Walter Baker (I have linked similar for you down below) | Coat - Land's End

Week 16: I am BLONDE! Très Chic on Minetta Lane

I have been extremely busy the last few days with new collaborations, meetings and, to be perfectly honest, a few escapes to the beach (yes, they have amazing ones in NYC!). So even though I am dying to take a nap right now, today I am sharing my new, highly anticipated look with you.

I am wearing this GORGEOUS embroidered top by Walter Baker (it is on 50% SALE here and I also love this top), white Topshop jeans, Dior mirrored sunglasses, Michael Kors bag (similar here and here), and Steve Madden heels. I have linked more similar items that I like at the end of this post.

Do you like this beautiful powder blue wall too? It is located on Minetta Lane and it is one of the trendiest spots for a quick Instagram photo in Soho.

All photos were taken by an extremely talented and intelligent (he earned his Masters degree from Yale!) photographer - Dennis. Check out his website DCP New York and his Instagram page @dcpnyc.

There were so many amazing shots that I had a really hard time picking just a few, so I am posting a little bit more than usual :)

MY LOOK & FAVOURITES:

Week 6: Marie Antoinette. My French Queen Inspired Look

Ulia Ali as Marie Antoinetter

Every week when I am creating new pastiches or looks inspired by famous historical figures, I wonder how to make them recognisable, yet not too costume-y. I wanted my Marie Antoinette look to be beautiful, memorable, but still wearable.

I opted for this beautiful Diana gown from Lurelly with pastel embroidered flowers and some fancy jewellery, including my matching ring and a bracelet with amethysts. I was thinking of trying Marie's iconic pouf hair with baby powder sprinkled all over my brown hair, but decided to keep the look more XXI-st century appropriate :)
